Valley Springs, CA…On 8-26-16 at about 1100hrs the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant on the 2000 block of Danaher in Valley Springs as part of an investigation into a concentrated cannabis lab. It was determined during the investigation that the suspect had been using butane to manufacture concentrated cannabis. Several items collected at the scene are connected to concentrated cannabis.

This is a very dangerous method and it is not uncommon for these “labs” to explode. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad has responded to several calls of a reported pipe bomb, only to discover the pipe is remnants of a BHO (Butane Honey Oil) lab. No arrests have been made. However, this case is still under investigation and charges may be filed at later date.
