Sonora, CA…A new singles group plans its first social event from 6-8pm Fri., Oct. 7 at Gianelli
Vineyards Tasting Room, 18158 Main St., Jamestown.
This free event features a no-host bar and icebreaker activities intended for single foothills
residents ages 50 and older.
“Its sole purpose is to foster fun and fellowship with a group of like-minded individuals in a safe,
supportive environment,” said Linda Emerson, one of several area residents helping to organize
the group.
The group was organized following a speed-dating event at the Friends and Neighbors Expo in
June, after more than 30 people signed up to participate in such a club. Volunteers have held
several meetings, created a Facebook page and plan regular get-togethers.
The Friday evening event is in conjunction with Jamestown’s last “First Friday Art Walk, Wine &
Dine,” an event featuring music in downtown’s Rocca Park, starting at 5pm.
