Two Traffic Stops By Angels Camp Police Net Two Illegal Firearms.

Angle Camp, CA…Recently, officers from the Angels Camp Police Department have removed firearms from two different individuals, on two different traffic stops. The first incident occurred on 09-26-16, when Anthony R. Jones, a 32 year old Modesto resident, was stopped for not having a front license plate on his vehicle. Jones provided the officer with an expired concealed weapons permit, issued in Stanislaus County, and advised that his pistol was in the vehicle. Jones was arrested, cited and released for carrying a loaded firearm in public, as well as the traffic infraction. His registered Ruger 9 MM semi-automatic handgun was seized as evidence, due to the fact that he was not legally allowed to carry a loaded weapon. Jones admitted that he carries the weapon for his personal protection, and that he is involved in commercial marijuana cultivation in Calaveras County.
