Lodi, CA…On October 5th 2016, thirty five Freshman attended the Greenhand Leadership Conference (GLC) at Lodi High School. The entire conference hosted 180 freshman students from nearby FFA chapters who got the chance to come together and learn about all of the different opportunities that FFA has to offer.
The Agriculture students learned about leadership, responsibility, and friendship. We began the day by dividing into five groups and had an opportunity to get to know one another. Next, we learned the six benefits of taking an agriculture class which were leadership, competition, travel, personal growth, learning, and experience. Each one of the six benefits represents what FFA has to offer to its members over the next four years of high school. The group leaders helped students learn about career opportunities in agriculture. The Greenhand Leadership Conference was a great opportunity for new members joining the FFA program to learn about the benefits of the Ag program and to excel in their futures through Agriculture. Specials thanks to the Bret Harte FFA Boosters for funding this event for students!
