San Andreas, CA… In Calaveras County, 2 people were arrested by the CHP between 6:00 pm Wednesday and 11:59 pm Sunday. Our Officers handled 5 accidents during this time period. Unfortunately 1 of the accidents resulted in a fatality.

During the holiday period the San Andreas Officers wrote 38 citations, 19 were for speeding, 1 was for passing over double yellow lines, 1 was for not wearing a seat belt, and numerous others for various mechanical violations.

Our Resident Post Officers were kept busy in the snow. They responded to numerous spin outs and wrote 3 citations for vehicles not having chains on while in a chain control area.
