Angels Camp, CA…2017 Officers for the Calaveras County Commission on Aging were elected at a Christmas luncheon held December 2, 2016 at Foothill Village in Angels Camp. Incoming Chair is Rex Whisnand of Copperopolis, Vice Chair is Bertha Underhill of Camp Connell and Secretary is Doris Toth of Valley Springs. The next meeting will be January 6, 2017, 10 am at Common Ground Senior Services, 65 East St. Charles, in San Andreas. Meetings are held the 1st Friday of the month, generally lasting an hour and a half.

Currently, there are vacancies in the Commission for Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4. When filled, the Commission is fifteen, 3 from each district. The mission of the Commission is to help the County provide an environment conducive to the well-being of older adults. Any resident of Calaveras County is invited to apply for a position. Applications are available at www.calaverasgov.us. Please, join the Commission, on any meeting day to familiarize yourself with the group and plans for the New Year’s agenda, to be determined.
