Calaveras Fly Fishers Held Their Annual “One Fly” Contest At White Pines On May 6th

Arnold, CA…The Calaveras Fly Fishers held their annual “One Fly” Contest against the Delta Fly Fishers on Sat May 6th at White Pines Lake. The 26 participants spend the morning chasing trout to raise money for the club’s Scholarship Program. The CFF presents a $1,000 scholarship each year to a deserving senior at Bret Harte HS. Afterwards the fly fishermen were treated to a tri tip luncheon.

The trophy for most fish is presented to Gary Conrado of CFF

The contest, which features the rule allowing only one fly to be used (if you lose it, you’re out of the contest), has two categories. One is for the most fish caught and one for the biggest fish caught. Winning the most fish for the second year in a row is Gary Conrado of CFF. The biggest fish (measured in at 18 ½ inches) was caught by tournament rookie John Rogers.
