Glencoe, CA…Dale Gundy was traveling eastbound on State Route 26 west of Stormy Lane. A Shingle Springs man was traveling westbound on State Route 26, approaching Mr. Gundy’s 2003 Mercedes. Mr. Gundy allowed his Mercedes to travel completely into the westbound lane, directly in the path of the oncoming 2014 Ram. The Mercedes and the Dodge Ram collided head-on. Mr. Gundy was extricated from the Mercedes and both occupants of Dodge Ram were able to exit prior to both vehicles catching fire. A large area of grass caught fire as a result. Mr. Gundy was pronounced deceased at the scene. Several fire trucks responded and they were able to extinguish the fire quickly.
