Moderate Injuries in Collision on Hwy 108 in Twain Harte Area

Twain Harte, CA…On May 25, 2017 at approximately 2:35 pm, 24 year old Sonora resident, Kimberly Catherine Byrdharl, was driving a 1991 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Twain Harte Drive, east of High Road. At this time, 44 year old Bakersfield resident, Brandon Keith Rolin, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Twain Harte Drive, approaching High Road. Rolin looked down and to the right within his vehicle because something fell off from the center console. Because of this distraction, Rolin allowed his vehicle to drift over the solid double yellow lines through a right hand curve in the roadway, directly into the path of Byrdharl. Subsequently, the left front of Rolin’s vehicle struck the right front of Byrdharl’s vehicle.

Both Byrdharl and Rolin were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision and the driver’s side airbag deployed in Rolin’s vehicle. Byrdharl was transported by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center to be treated for moderate injuries. Rolin did not sustain any injuries as a result of this collision. No alcohol or drugs were suspected to be a factor in this collision.
