Arnold, CA…Sonora Pass – SR-108 SONORA in Tuolumne County due to approaching storm, Sonora Pass/SR-108 will not open today (Friday, June 9). Status will be re-assessed Saturday. Ebbetts Pass/SR-4 is scheduled to remain closed into July, due to major road damage.

We just touched bases with Caltrans for a bit more information on the Ebbetts Pass closure. We had heard several weeks ago that opening may be delayed due to road damage. Now as they dig out the severity of the problems is becoming clear. There is erosion and road stability problems in the area above Cadilac Curve, some damage over in the burn scar area and also additional road damage in several more spots.
