Murphys, CA…On September 23rd Bret Harte, Calaveras, and Summerville FFA chapters attended the 21st annual Concours De Elegance at Ironstone Vineyards along with the 4H Organizations. The event hosted over 300 antique vintage cars as well as vintage trailers, motorcycles, and wooden boats in an effort to raise money for the FFA and 4H organizations statewide. FFA members educated the public about the FFA organization, California Agriculture and specific leadership opportunities available to them through agricultural education.
Our day ended with Jocelyn Gomez reciting the five paragraph FFA creed on the amphitheater stage to the crowd of the concours event. Being able to talk to the general public about the importance of agriculture and FFA in the high schools was fulfilling and rewarding to our FFA members. A special thanks to the Kautz family for their continued support and for allowing us to take part in such a historic event. Throughout the entire event everyone kept in mind that it always seems impossible until it is done when it comes to spreading the word of agriculture education and FFA.
