Copperopolis, CA…The following information is to update on the status of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team’s recent activities: On 9-29-17 CCSO MET Team deputies served search warrants for illegal marijuana cultivation at two separate locations on Chuckwagon Drive in Copperopolis. At the first location, no subjects were found to be present and 474 marijuana plants were eradicated. At the second location, four subjects were arrested and 127 marijuana plants were eradicated.
Three of the arrestees stated they were from Minnesota including Albert Vue (age 24), Areg Vue (age 26), and Peter Vue (age 33); while the fourth subject Ryu Lee (age 22) reported to be from Redding, CA. A handgun with the serial number filed off and a loaded high capacity ammunition magazine was located during the service of the search warrant. All four subjects were booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of 11358(c)H&S – illegal marijuana cultivation, 182(a)(1)PC – criminal conspiracy, 23920PC – possession of altered firearm, and 32310PC – possession of large capacity magazine with $85,000 bail. Subject Peter Vue was additionally charged with 29800PC – felon in possession of firearm after it was discovered that he had a prior felony conviction. As of today, 10-3-17, all subjects are still in custody at the Calaveras County Jail.
During another unrelated MET Team operation on Monday 10-2-17, CCSO deputies accompanied Code Compliance Officers in serving an abatement warrant at a marijuana cultivation site in the 1000 block of Vineyard Terrace Court in Murphys. 334 marijuana plants were eradicated at that location. No subjects were arrested.
