Caltrans to Host a Public Meeting about Potential Safety and Mobility Project in Groveland

Groveland, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is hosting a public meeting to discuss a potential project that would improve safety and efficiency for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians in the town of Groveland. This project, which would stretch 1.2 miles along State Route 120 from Ponderosa Lane to the Tenaya Elementary School, would widen existing pavement to allow the installment of bike lanes and new sidewalks, new crosswalks and curb ramps. The effort would also improve and close gaps for pedestrian pathways within the project limits.

This discussion will be on Thursday, October 26, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (presentation at 5:30 p.m.) at the Community Hall located at 18720 Main Street in Groveland.

This project would be part of the Active Transportation Program (ATP), which focuses on promoting complete, safe and efficient streets on the state highway system. ATP increases the proportion of trips accomplished by biking and walking, increases safety and mobility for non-motorized users and enhances public health in general.
