Trip Through High Sierra Among SMUG’S November 14 Highlights

Arnold, CA…A trip through High Sierra, with stops at other Apple points of interest, will be the main topic at the Tuesday, November 14 meeting of the Sierra Macintosh Users Group (SMUG). The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the assembly room of the Ebbetts Pass Fire District, 1037 Blagen Rd., Arnold, just off Highway 4. This exploration was originally set for the October meeting but had to be delayed.

Seth Summersett, a professional computer programmer and one of SMUG’s major presenters, will lead the excursion. High Sierra is the recently released macOS operating system. Apple has also introduced new versions of the iPhone, Apple Watch and Apple TV. Along with exploring the features of each of these innovations, Summerset will give guidance on when or why users should upgrade.

A SMUG tradition, questions about any Apple product or application will be welcomed and encouraged.

SMUG meetings are designed for dues paying members but anyone is welcome to attend to see if they would like to join the group. SMUG was founded in 1995 and is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers. It meets the second Tuesday of the month, January through November. Annual dues are $20 for an individual or couple payable at the first of the year. Members joining mid year need only pay $10 for 2017.

The organization exists to keep Apple users abreast of the latest developments and to address the nagging questions that arise from time to time. Its goal is to take the mystery out of computers and to enable members to take advantage of all the features their Mac products possess.
