Angels Camp, CA…I’m an experienced trial attorney specializing in Family Law, Wills, Trusts and Estates, and Personal Injury. I have 27 years experience as an attorney. I spent the past ten years as a prosecutor for the Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office, the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office and the California District Attorneys Association.
I recently went into private practice in Angels Camp where I will handle civil cases and provide law enforcement training. I can also provide services as a hiring consultant based on my experience as a police manager, having retired as a police captain.
I’ve been married to Ann Radford for 33 years and we’ve lived in Calaveras County for 13 years. We also have children and grandchildren living in Calaveras County.

Professional Experience
September 2007 – present:
Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor, California District Attorneys Association. Train law enforcement officers and prosecutors how to investigate and prosecute impaired driving cases. Topics include investigation, report writing, courtroom testimony, opening statement, direct exam, cross exam, closing argument, dealing with defense experts, drug impairment and related topics.
April 2004 – September 2007:
Deputy District Attorney, Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office. Prosecuted various misdemeanor and felony cases on behalf of the people of the State of California.
July 2000 – October 2013:
Police Captain, City of Pleasanton, California. Managed the Operations Division consisting of 60 employees, both sworn and non-sworn. Developed and managed a 6 million dollar budget each year. Set policies and procedures for the Department, reviewed and approved internal investigations, recommended discipline when necessary, wrote personnel evaluations and acted as the Chief of Police in the Chief’s absence.
August 1995 – July 2000:
Police Lieutenant, City of Pleasanton, California. Served as Watch Commander managing and supervising day to day operations of a Patrol shift, handled citizen complaints, internal investigations, developed subordinates for promotion or special assignments, wrote personnel evaluations and acted as the Division Commander in the Captain’s absence.
July 1984 – August 2000:
Police Sergeant, City of Pleasanton, California. Supervised police officers and non-sworn employees in various assignments including Patrol, Motorcycle Traffic Enforcement, Undercover Narcotics, SWAT and Special Events. Trained police officers in tactics and firearms.
