Notice of Vacancies for Citizen Boards, Committees & Commissions

San Andreas, CA…NOTICE OF VACANCIES FOR CITIZEN BOARDS/COMMITTEES/COMMISSIONS. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, due to unscheduled vacancies and expiration of terms, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors encourages interested and qualified persons to apply for membership to the following County committees or commissions:

Commission on Aging
One vacancy for a term expiring 12/31/2019 – District 3 Representative 2
To help the community provide an environment conducive to the wellbeing of older people and to prevent and address problems after they occur.
Members are limited to two (2) consecutive terms and then must take a three year (1 term) break before re-applying for appointment. Members are required to annually file Statement of Economic Interest – Form 700 and attend Ethics Training biennially.
Meetings: Meets on the first Friday of each month at 10:00 AM at various locations within the county.

Calaveras County Resource Conservation District
One vacancy for a term expiring 11/30/2018 – Member at Large
The RCD was approved by the Board of Supervisors and county voters to control runoff, prevent soil erosion, enhance water distribution, improve agricultural land capabilities, and conserve water, soil, air, and habitat and assisting residences and landowners with conservation practices. The RCD will be an independent special district.
Per state law, the qualifications and requirements for applicants are as follows: Applicants must be registered voters and must either (1) reside within and own property within the district, or (2) be a formally designated agent of a resident landowner within the district. Applicants cannot be directly or indirectly interested in the sale of equipment, materials, or services to the RCD and must file a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700) within 30 days of appointment, leaving office and annually. Directors will also be required to complete Code of Ethics training to meet the requirements of AB1234, every two years, take an oath of office and shall adhere to open meeting laws. RCD directors will be volunteers and receive no compensation other than expenses pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 9303, which would be charged to the RCD.
The Board of Directors will consist of seven directors who will be appointed at large by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors for staggered four-year terms, as provided by Public Resources Code Section 9202 and LAFCo Resolution 2015-0005.

Ranch Rd, San Andreas, CA 95249 or you may apply on the County’s website at http://calaverascountyca.iqm2.com/Citizens/Board . Completed applications must be returned to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at the above address by 4:00 PM, March 21, 2018. If no applications are received by the advertised deadline or applications are withdrawn, do not meet requirements, are invalid, etc., the County will continue to accept applications beyond the deadline until the vacancy is filled.
