Sonora, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept…”Last night deputies responded to the Cascade Mobile Home Park on 18330 Wards Ferry Road in Sonora for a report of a burglary in progress after an alert neighbor reported seeing a dark skinned man wearing a black hat, red shirt and black hooded sweatshirt breaking into his neighbor’s home.
When deputies arrived, they contacted a man carrying several items walking near the entrance of the park that matched the description of the burglar. The neighbor confirmed, 25-year-old Deshon Mansfield of Columbia was the man they saw breaking into the home. The items being carried by Mansfield were positively identified and returned to the homeowner.
Mansfield smelled strongly of alcohol and became uncooperative as deputies attempted to place him under arrest. Mansfield was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and was found to be in possession of a small baggie of methamphetamine. Mansfield was given an alcohol screening test with a result of .182 and was booked for burglary, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed dirk or dagger and attempting to conceal evidence.
We are thankful for residents who are alert and partner with Law Enforcement to help prevent crimes and catch suspects.”
