Sonora, CA…This collision occurred as Mr. Williams was attempting to park his 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck in the Price Co grocery store parking lot directly in front of the store. Mr. Williams’ foot slipped off of the brake pedal and depressed the gas pedal causing the pick up to drive up onto the sidewalk. The pick up collided into a crate of watermelons and a pedestrian (Mr. Sonnenfelt) and the pick up pinned Mr. Sonnenfelt up against the concrete store front. After the collision, several concerned citizens attended to Mr. Sonnenfelt who sustained major injuries and was eventually flown by air ambulance to the Modesto area for treatment of his injuries. Mr. Williams was uninjured.
