Tree Removal Work on Hwy 4 Above Arnold

Arnold, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform road construction including tree removal of dead and dying trees on eastbound and westbound State Route 4 (SR-4) from Upper Moran Road to the Calaveras/Alpine county line. Work will occur as follows: One-way traffic control will be in effect on eastbound and westbound SR-4 from Upper Moran Road to the Calaveras Big Trees State Park entrance Monday through Friday each week until fall 2018 from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for construction work. One-way traffic control will be in effect on eastbound and westbound SR-4 from east of Big Trees State Park to Meko Drive through Friday, July 13, 2018, from 6:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for tree removal work. One-way traffic control will be in effect on eastbound and westbound SR-4 from Dorrington Station to Cabbage Patch Monday through Friday each week until fall 2018 from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for paving.

Motorists should expect 10 minute delays at each location. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
