Bear Valley, CA…We just checked in the the Alpine County Sheriff’s Dept on the potential impacts of the Donnell Fire in our neck of the woods. Today the closed the gates back into Highland Lakes as a precautionary measure. Campgrounds are all open with the only changes is the Spicer has been closed to all watercraft. Probably so helicopters can dip from Spicer without need to watch for watercraft. The Donell Fire has entered parts of Alpine County. Luckily Spicer is a very long lake and natural firebreak.
