San Andreas, CA…On 8-23-18 the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served two search warrants for unrelated illegal marijuana grows. At the first location, in the 2000 block of Andreas Vista Drive in San Andreas, 191 large marijuana plants with an average height of 8-10 feet were eradicated. The second location in the 600 block of Smitty Lane, West Point resulted in the eradication of 465 marijuana plants.
No suspects were found at either location. There were several egregious environmental violations observed during the investigation to include stream diversion, pollutants in and near a waterway, oil dripping directly into an open well, open trench sewage, and unsafe electrical and generator connections. Search warrants had been served at both of these locations during 2017 for illegal marijuana cultivation.
