Law Enforcement & Firefighters Make Quick Work Blaze in Sonora

Sonora, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept…”A Sheriff’s Deputy had spotted smoke while driving on Stockton Road and notified Dispatch to start Fire units his way. He did not stop there. The deputy got out of his patrol car looking for the flames. When he found them he sprung into action by using his hands to dig a containment line in front of the fire to slow it down. Fire crews arrived and made quick work to extinguish the fire. Team work at its finest to provide the best service to our community.

Update 6:50 PM:
Cal Fire reports the flames have been contained at one acre. Crews will remain on scene mopping up for some time while fire investigators try to determine the cause.

Sheriff’s Deputies and Fire personnel are responding to a vegetation fire on Stockton Rd. in Sonora. The flames are moving at a slow rate of speed and no homes are threatened at this time. Please stay out of the area as there are numerous emergency crews responding.”
