Calaveras County Accepts Resignation of County Administrator and Provides Direction on the Appointment of an Interim Administrator

San Andreas, CA – Today, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors accepted the resignation of the County Administrative Officer (CAO), Timothy Lutz. Mr. Lutz has served as the CAO since April 2017. He will be leaving after the first of the year to assume the role of Health & Human Services Agency Director in Tulare County.
“It is with very mixed emotion that I leave Calaveras County. I am tremendously grateful for the support of the Board of Supervisors over my tenure as CAO. I feel that I was able to accomplish a number of the goals I laid out when I came to Calaveras and am leaving County Administration with excellent staff in the key roles needed for ongoing success. I wish to thank the Board of Supervisors, County department staff, and community partners for their support,” said Mr. Lutz.

In addition to accepting Mr. Lutz’s resignation, the Board directed Mr. Lutz to bring a contract forward on December 18 with Manuel Lopez, to serve as the Interim CAO. Mr. Lopez served previously as the Interim CAO prior to Mr. Lutz’s appointment. Prior to that, Mr. Lopez served as the County Administrative Officer for San Juaquin County for 11 ½ years.
