Sonora, CA…From TCSO…”The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the implementation of the Emergency Medical Priority Dispatch System™ to better serve the citizens of Tuolumne County in emergency situations. Using the Emergency Medical Dispatch System we will deliver the help you need faster while providing, when necessary, the over-the-phone assistance essential to saving a life or protecting your own.
The system allows our agency to:
• Prioritize 9-1-1 calls
• Provide life-saving instructions for choking, childbirth, CPR, and escape from a sinking vehicle.
• Consistently provide every caller with the highest level of service.
• Continue collecting scene information for responders after help has been dispatched.
When you call 9-1-1, you will hear:
1. “Sheriff’s Office, 911, What is the address of the emergency?”
2. “What’s the phone number you’re calling from?”
3. “Okay, tell me exactly what happened.”
The dispatcher will then:
1. Send help while gathering information for responders who are en route to the emergency.
2. Provide easy and medically-approved life-saving instructions, if applicable.
3. Remain on the line with you until help arrives, if necessary.
We are excited and pleased to be able to provide this service to our citizens and community and we know this system is your best possible source of help during times of medical emergencies.”
