Cattle in the Sierra Documentary Was Screened on Feb 24th in Murphys

Murphys, CA…The public was invited to a documentary film Cattle in the Sierra, a presentation on the long history of cattle grazing in the Sierra Nevada. The screening was at the Old School House in Murphys. Since Forest Preserves were established in the 1890s, the U.S. Government has increasingly sought to balance citizens’ rights to use these resources with their stewardship responsibility to protect these lands from degradation. This short documentary presents current controversies over high-country grazing and hopes for a future resolution.
