San Andreas, CA…From the San Andreas CHP Office…”San Andreas CHP is saddened to report the sudden passing of Retired Officer Al Courtright on April 14, 2019. Officer Courtright began his career with CHP on July 18, 1966 and was assigned to the Baldwin Park area. Al transferred to San Andreas in 1971, serving the citizens of Calaveras County for 26 years, retiring from the San Andreas Office on December 29, 1997. After his career with the CHP he joined the Calaveras County Sheriff Department as a Reserve Deputy and Court Bailiff. Prior to the CHP, Officer Courtright served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, his daughter Kary Ott, son Mark Courtright, daughter Rachel Crosby, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his son Michael Courtright.

Al will be greatly missed by all.”
