San Andreas, CA…San Andreas Rotary started with several informal meetings letting the community know that we wanted to start a club. Many community members agreed that this would be the perfect fit. We chartered our club on July 10th 2017. We then needed to search for a place to meet. We finally landed at the Calaveras County Historical Museum in the old Court House and are still meeting there today on Wednesday at 11:30. We are an active group of men and women who want to serve our community and the world around us.

What is Rotary?
Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

FIRST:
The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service

High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society

The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
