Columbia, CA…The CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit is deeply saddened to report the death of Fire Captain Stacy Hamilton, from the CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit. In 2006, Stacy Hamilton started with CAL FIRE after previously working for the United States Forest Service. He was hired in the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit and assigned to the Sierra Training Center, Forestry Training Program. There he trained inmates for four (4) years until he transferred to the Columbia Helitack Program and began his devotion to the CAL FIRE Aviation Program. In 2013, Stacy moved into the fixed wing side and was assigned to Columbia Air Attack Base as an ATGS on AA440. Stacy was a skilled and professional Air Tactical Group Supervisor.

Stacy is survived by his wife and two teenage sons.
