Copperopolis, CA…Benjamin Luther Beck, 47 from Copperopolis was driving his GMC Sonoma eastbound on Copper Cove, west of Acorn Street at an unknown speed. At this time, it is unknown why he allowed the GMC to leave the roadway and enter the south shoulder. When the pickup entered the south shoulder, it collided with a power pole. Despite on scene efforts by emergency personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.

Alcohol and/or drug use is not suspected at this time.
