West Point, CA…Fred “Butch” Ballard, 80, of West Point passed away, Wednesday, January 1, 2020. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 8th at the VFW in West Point. Butch was born December 4, 1939 in Oakland, California and was also raised there. He worked for General Motors in Fremont and construction throughout the Bay Area. He also worked for many years at the P&M Cedar Mill in Pioneer. Butch and his family moved to the West Point area in the early 70’s.
Butch is survived by his son, Jeff Ballard and granddaughter Gina Ballard of Mokelumne Hill, his sister Phyliss Waaland of West Point and niece Lynette Lyman, nephew Bradley Lyman and nephew Dale Lyman. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Hulda Ballard of West Point.
He had a passion for Western movies and tinkering and cruising in his 55’ Chevy which he had since he was a teenager. He will be missed.
