Karl Karlsen Found Guilty of Murder in Wife’s 1991 Arson Death

San Andreas, CA…Karl Karlsen found guilty on first degree murder charges in the 1991 arson death of his wife Christina in Murphys. In 2013 he plead guilty to 2nd degree murder in New York in the 2008 death of his son Levi who was crushed under a car he was working on. It was found that both murders were committed for financial reasons to collect life insurance claims. There was a $200,000 policy on his wife and a $700,000 policy on his son.

He is scheduled for March sentencing of today’s decision. He still has a portion of his sentence in New York to complete before he is returned to California where he most likely will spend the remainder of his life behind bars.
