Murphys, CA…Gary and Carol Zucca, owners of Zucca Mountain Vineyards Winery in Murphys, announced their retirement and will be closing their tasting room in Murphys on April 30. In announcing the closing, Gary Zucca said, “Carol and I are delighted and proud to have been part of the local wine industry for the past 24 years. We started the winery as a ‘retirement’ project, but it is time for us to really retire this time.

“We will have some great bargains for our customers, wine club members, and local wineries as we sell our inventory and equipment. Thanks to you all for your support over the years.”

“Finally, a remembrance and thanks to Barden Stevenot and Chuck Hovey for their wisdom and guidance in getting us started. They represent the spirit of Calaveras wineries.”
