San Andreas, CA…Meet Murphy, a Shepherd mix estimated to be about four months of age. An intelligent boy who’s already good on the leash and will automatically sit when you stop. Murphy is more interested in people than toys and eager to cuddle and give kisses. He is very much in his puppy chewing stage, though, and should be provided with durable treats to teach him what is appropriate. At 19 pounds Murphy is still a fairly little guy but based on his paw size we feel he will grow to be a medium-sized dog. He is also calm in his kennel and keeps it clean, so he should be easy to house train. Should you have another dog at home, a meet ‘n’ greet will be required.
As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Murphy is microchipped and up to date on his routine vaccinations. He will need to be neutered before going home with you.
Come visit Murphy, impound no. AO53148, along with other dogs and cats awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
