FINDINGS |
1. |
The Board Chair called this emergency meeting to recommend that the Board declare a state of local emergency due to the Butte Fire. |
2. |
The Board of Supervisors finds that the Butte Fire qualifies as an “emergency” per Gov. Code. 54956.5 (a), as it is “an evernt that severely impairs public health and safety.” |
3. |
The Board of Supervisors further finds that the Butte Fire “disrupts or threatens to disrupt public facilities” per Gov. Code 54956.5 (b), and therefore an emergency meeting on one-hour public notice is appropriate under the Brown Act. |
