Hermit Valley, CA…From Yesterday…The Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Association Board regretfully has decided to officially cancel our September 12th Celebration in Hermit Valley.The Butte Fire is continuing to expand aggressively and had consumed almost 32,000 acres as of this morning, homes have been lost and our friends and families are dealing with evacuations and road closures.

We have been informed that air quality will continue to decline and evacuations and road closures will be expanded today. Highway 4 between Murphys and Arnold is potentially within the trajectory of this fire and many of our board members, entertainers and volunteers live and work in these areas. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment .. watch our website (www.scenic4.org) and FB pages for news on re-scheduling of this event. There are event participants already in Hermit Valley and there is sure to be a much reduced celebration taking place on Saturday so feel free to join them if you want to escape the smoke and enjoy a day in the high country
