Arnold, CA…Gabriel “Goose” Neal Goszulak, age 16, born at Sonora Community Hospital, raised in Calaveras County and a Bret Harte student passed away Monday 10/19/15 at 11:00am due to injuries he sustained as a passenger in a motor vehicle accident. Gabriel is survived by his mother Amanda Goszulak, his father Tavius Aiton, and sister Cassidy. He is also survived by his large extended family who cared and loved him deeply.
Gabe was a bright, sensitive, fun loving, happy young man. He touched everyone who met him with his sincere kindness and witty humor. He was a very well mannered boy who had a passion for art, skateboarding and wood shop. He was an artistic dreamer who made things happen! Bret Harte High School wood-shop has a skateboard deck class as a result of his vision and persistence. For the past two years he had his eyes set on a skate park being build in White Pines near Arnold. He felt that a skate park in the Arnold area would give kids a safe place to hang out, and had already started designing it and even reached out to local community leaders.
Gabe’s love and kindness were infectious and he taught and inspired everyone that knew him. He was incredible with people, his sister and anyone who was younger, as he was so patient and caring. The family is very proud of him and blessed to have had the chance to be loved by him.
His love and kindness will continue to not only impact the lives he touched while he lived, but even in his death as Gabe choose to be a donor. Although we grieve our loss, we are touched that Gabe has brought life to many children who were waiting for an organ donation.
The family would also like it known that no blame is too be laid upon anyone as a result of the accident. All involved were loved and cared for deeply by Gabe and he would not want this. Instead, he would want us to forgive, love and most of all be kind in memory to him.
Gabe’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Bret Harte Theatre on November 8th, at 2pm. The family requests that no permanent markers be left at the site of the accident as there will be a place and time of remembrance at his Celebration.
Your smile and light will be in our hearts forever.

Gabriel, you were a gift from God! You were kind, and funny, and always unique. Every day with you was a gift. You were the glue that held our family together. This was Gods will. It’s just hard to accept. Your aunty Amy loves you Gabe-o
Thank you for actually printing what we had wanted. We appreciate your respect and honor in this matter. Thank you!
So, so very sorry for your loss (to all family and friends affected). My heart especially goes out to his parents and I hope there can be some peace in reconciling this tragedy. Take time to grieve…
Thank you Tom! We have definitely been feeling all the love and prayers. Each day gets a little harder as the surrealism begins to wear off and the initial shock, too. Please keep praying for everyone involved as it doesn’t necessarily get any easier at least not right away.
We have your family in our thoughts and prayers. We feel so blessed that your sweet boy was a part of our daughter’s life. He will forever be in her heart and ours.
