Calaveras County, CA…
Dear Friend,
We’ve reached the busiest part of kitten season, and to put it quite simply, we’re buried in the little four-legged boogers. Our foster homes are filled to capacity (more than 65 underage kittens currently in care), and the kitten condos at our adoption center feature an average of 18 available babies at any given time.
We’re doing a record number of adoptions, as loving, compassionate members of the public step up to offer homes to these felines in need — but new kittens arrive just as quickly as they leave. We’re on track to accept more kittens this year than in any year in our organization’s history.
Each and every kitten comes with an invisible price tag, as we provide necessary medical treatment (de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, flea control, and, in a number of cases, much more — including the surgical removal of severely injured eyes and limbs, or medication for infections and disease). We spend far, far more on our animals than we could ever hope to recoup through our very reasonable adoption fees.
We urgently need your support to help us in these challenging summer months. Donations large or small are appreciated.
