Valley Springs, CA…On December 19th, 2023, shortly after midnight, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle near the Valley Oaks Shopping Center in Valley Springs. The driver, Sierra Martin, a 24-year-old resident of Wallace, was found to be driving on a suspended license and to have an outstanding felony warrant for vehicle theft issued by San Joaquin County Superior Court. The passenger, Jonathan Morris, a 30-year-old resident of Valley Springs, was found to be on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) probation.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies discovered burglary tools, including multiple vehicle keys of the same make, and methamphetamine.
Sierra Martin was arrested for her outstanding warrant, driving on a suspended license, and possession of a controlled substance. Jonathan Morris was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of burglary tools. Both individuals were booked into the Calaveras County Jail without any further incident.
Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) is a program in California that provides probation supervision for individuals released from state prison. The program is designed to reduce reoffending and enhance public safety through tailored supervision and support.
