CHP Officer Injured While Making Enforcement Stop

Jackson, CA…On Thursday March 7, 2004 at approximately 4:00 PM, a California Highway Patrol vehicle was traveling eastbound on Shenandoah Road west of Dickson Road. The CHP officer was attempting to make an enforcement stop and was broadsided on the passenger side by a vehicle traveling westbound on Shenandoah Road. Both the officer and the driver of the other vehicle sustained moderate injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to the Amador County Fairgrounds, then transported by air ambulance. The CHP officer was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center and the party in the other vehicle was transported to UC Davis Medical Center. The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
