San Andreas, CA…The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the addition of two new academy graduates to our law enforcement team. Tyler Ferrante and David Rivera graduated from the San Joaquin Delta College Basic Peace Officer Academy on Monday, December 16th, and will begin their field training with us next week.
The Delta College Basic Peace Officer Academy prepares students mentally, morally, emotionally, and physically to perform the duties of a peace officer. The rigorous training and testing ensure that each graduate embodies the professional standards required: demonstrating character, law knowledge, problem-solving abilities, de-escalation techniques, human relations, communication skills, and physical fitness. Discipline is an essential component of the Academy, which helps nurture the attitudes and behaviors expected of peace officers by the public they serve.
We are proud to recognize that our two Calaveras County recruits received three top awards among fifty-three academy students. Tyler Ferrate received the Top Male Physical Training award (demonstrating remarkable agility) and the Arrest and Control award (proficiency in techniques and skills required to safely and effectively apprehend and control a suspect during an arrest, including handcuffing, physical restraint, and de-escalation tactics).
Additionally, David Rivera earned the Top Academic Award (given to the recruit with the highest average in academics).
Please join us in welcoming Deputy Tyler Ferrante and Deputy David Rivera to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office as they embark on their careers in law enforcement.
Congratulations to all! We need you!
Congratulations to both of you, now, don’t be afraid to use your stick and your heat, I love cops that use them, instead of talking to losers that need a good ass whipin
