Daniel F. Talbot Dr. Dan the Molarman 1936 – 2016

Arnold, CA…It is with great emotion that we announce the death of Daniel F. Talbot. Dr. Dan the Molarman went home to be with Jesus on a beautiful sunny morning—May 31, 2016. Born in Beaumont, CA in 1936, Dan recently celebrated his 80th birthday. Known by his loved ones as: Dan, DT, Dr. Dan, Dr. Talbot, Dad, Papa Daniel, Molarman, and Great Pa, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Billie, sister Sandra, four children and their spouses, nine grandchildren and their spouses, and three great grandchildren.

He was a man of many passions: his growing family, his faith, dentistry, golf, cribbage, and fishing. Dan was in the habit of fondly reciting exactly how long he had been married to his lovely bride: from years, months, days, minutes, down to the second; he would do so with a huge grin. He described each of his children’s birth as the best days of his life. He loved to say, “Work before pleasure” and “there’s a place for everything and everything in its place”, which he lived by example. Papa Daniel recently told his grandkids how grateful he is that they share such a special bond of friendship and love with one another—a direct result of his generosity. He was also generous with his spelling quizzes, often listing paleontologist as the word of choice.

In his decades of dentistry, Dr. Dan the Molarman transformed many mouths, loved trading dentistry for goods, and helped countless people, whether they could afford care or not. An accomplished golfer, he amazed many on the course with his powerful drives and his punch 8 iron which was long, accurate and breathtaking all at once. He truly was a gifted player and loved every aspect of the game.

Faith was a cornerstone of Daniel’s person. He intimately knew the transformative love of Jesus, and he was not shy about sharing the Good News with anyone who would listen. Dan knew no strangers and made friends wherever he went. In his later years, DT would daily check the obituaries for his own obituary, jokingly disappointed to see his name was not being honored that day. And trust us, there is nothing quite like witnessing his whole-body-shaking belly laugh that followed a good joke. Well, our precious Daniel F. Talbot, you finally made it into the paper! Enjoy reading our lovely tribute to you from your comfortable seat in heaven.
