Bear Valley, CA…Bear Valley Music Festival is proud to present possibly the greatest symphonic masterpiece of all time — Beethoven’s Fifth — along with Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with soloist Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner and Mendelssohn’s “Fair Melusina” Overture (Marchen von der schonen Mesuline).
Llewellyn Sanchez-WernerA California native, Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner began piano studies at age two and by the age of six made his orchestral debut as soloist. He made Juilliard history as the youngest-ever admittee, at 14 to the Bachelor’s Degree and at 18 to the Master’s Degree, where he is a proud recipient of the prestigious Kovner Fellowship. The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts awarded Llewellyn the only Young Arts gold medal for music in 2015.
He performed solo at the White House for President Obama in 2009, and for the Presidential Inauguration concert at the Kennedy Center in 2013. Llewellyn received the Atlantic Council’s 2014 Young Global Citizen Award, along with fellow recipients Robert De Niro, and Prime Ministers Shimon Peres and Lee Kuan Yew. CNN International featured him on “Connect the World” as the Connector of the Day.
