Calaveras County, CA…Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program. (The first year being Transitional Kindergarten and the second year a more traditional Kindergarten program.) Students may enroll in a Transitional Kindergarten program if they are five years old on September 2 through December 2. Children must be five years old prior to September
2 to enroll in traditional Kindergarten. Parents and guardians may optionally enroll their ageeligible
child in a Transitional Kindergarten program.

Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten enrollment packets will be available at Calaveras Unified School District elementary schools beginning February 8, 2017. The deadline for returning the packets is March 8, 2017. If you have any questions, please call the school.

All parents must bring a birth certificate or record of birth for their child, the child’s social security number and an immunization record for DPT, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B and Varicella with verification of the dates.
