San Andreas, CA…The first Sunday in April was a fine day for creating art behind the gallery for our salute to Calaveras County Veterans and their families. Laundry appeared on the staircase behind the Calaveras County Museum, and volunteer Robert Mierzwak brought a beautiful 48-star flag that made the scene absolutely striking. Models in costumes posed while painters sketched and painted and photographers clicked away (see some of the work our Member Artist of the Month, Susan Conner, created, below).
On Sunday May 7 we’ll be exploring World War II, with more models and collectibles from that era, and some swing music to set the mood. We plan on being here from 10 am to 4 pm. If the weather turns hot, we’ll find shade for our models and our artists, so don’t let the weather deter you from coming down and joining in the fun. It’s really a wonderful opportunity for artists. There is no cost except for a small donation for the models, who are professional and enthusiastic. We encourage you to attend.
