Valley Springs, CA…Richard Clarke, 57 from San Jose was driving a golf cart while intoxicated through a private olive orchard. As he approached the end of the orchard he made a left turn. His passenger Debra Bedard, 58 from San Jose was holding two wine glasses and was unable to stabilize herself as he made the turn and fell out of the golf cart.

The glasses she was holding broke and she landed on top of the shards of glass. Debra Bedard succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Clarke was arrested for driving under the influence.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected by this tragic accident. Life can seem so short, tragic and random when even a golf trip turns fatal.
