Mokelumne Hill, CA…A 48 year old German woman was riding a rented 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Hwy 49, north of Poverty Gulch at about 35 to 40 mph. As she started to negotiate a curve to her left, she was traveling too fast for the curve and had to lean the motorcycle so far to the left that the crash bars scraped on the roadway. She lost control of the motorcycle as it ran off the east roadway edge and up and embankment. The motorcycle rolled over and ejected her to the ground.
She sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Sutter Health Amador for treatment. As a note to the influx of riders in our area this time of year. We have lots of decreasing radius turns, off camber turns and many more road conditions that are not as prevalent in metropolitan areas.
