Ione, CA…From the Amador Sheriff’s Dept…”Last night we received another tragic reminder of how dangerous our waterways can be. The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call just before 9 P.M. advising us that a man was missing in Lake Camanche. Deputies responded and learned that a 24 year old Lodi man was swimming in the lake with a friend when he became tired and could no longer remain afloat. The Sheriff’s Office launched our patrol boat and searched the area, but we were unable to locate the missing man.

The Sheriff’s Office Dive Team responded and dive operations are ongoing. With summer quickly approaching we urge everyone to remain safe while enjoying the water and always wear a life jacket.”
