Zachary Thomas Peterson 2001 – 2017

Angels Camp, CA…With a heavy heart, the family of Zachary Thomas Peterson announce his unexpected passing on 8/27/2017. 4/13/2001 – 8/27/2017 At 16 years old, Zachary was a student at Bret Harte High School where he just started his junior year. A child of Bear Valley, CA, he lived there for seven years until his family moved down the hill to the Murphys/Angels Camp area. Preceded in death by his father, Gregory Peterson, Zach’s love of music and cars kept him connected to the spirit and memory of his father. He possessed his father’s kindness and generosity that allowed him to connect with anyone he spent time with.

Zachary is survived by his mother Jolee and brother Jesse 14 (Angels Camp), maternal grandparents Tom and Doris (Alturas, CA), paternal grandparents Bob and Mardie (Danville, CA), Aunt Jaime and cousin Trevor (Alturas, CA). Along with too many extended family (friends) to mention, his passing leaves another hole in a community that will forever miss and grieve for both him and his father.

A celebration is planned for Saturday, September 16th, at Grace Hills Covenant Church, 1270 Suzanne Dr., Angels Camp, CA., services to begin at noon.

Community members wishing to support the family during this time, donations are being accepted at Rabobank where the Zachary Peterson Memorial Fund has been established.

I did not know your son >My prayers are with you for I too lost a son at the tender age of 14. You will never be the same and nothing can fill that empty space but for the sweet memories. The heartbreak never goes away but the awful pain you have now will lesson over time but still be with you. I hope I am not out of line or intruding on your grief at this loss of your son. May GOD be with you.
