Canine Nox Celebrates Two Year Service Anniversary

San Andreas, CA…Canine Deputy Nox came to the department on February 8th, 2018. Since then, he has established himself as a vital member of the department trained in suspect apprehension and the detection of narcotics. In his two years of service, he has received 348 hours of training, assisted deputies with 29 high-risk arrests (1 homicide suspect) and 38 deployments to locate narcotics. He is working toward integrating with the department’s SWAT Team to assist them as a non-lethal option. Sheriff’s Office plans to add additional canine units to follow in the paw prints of Nox and the other canine deputies before him.

We want to thank the Friends of Calaveras Sheriff‘s Office, Spence Ranch Feed & Supply, Town and County Pet Resort and Arnold Pet Clinic for their continued support of the department’s canine program. Their donations have allowed us to provide the canine program to the citizens of the county at a greatly reduced cost.
