West Point Ca. CalFire TCU and West Point Fire are enroute to a possible Lightning Fire East of West Point California after a Smoke Sighting Report from the Blue Mountain Lookout of 29 degrees for 8.5 miles in the Blue Creek Drainage area. We will try to bring you updates as they become available.
Update: 5:20pm Hose lay has been established to the fire and crews are working hard towards full containment. About 4 Engines with their crews have been released off this incident. Great Job All Crews On Scene.
Update: 4:50pm Vallecito Crew 3 has arrived on scene. Fire holding at 3 acres with Retardant on 3 sides. AA460 is going to use T82 and 2 Copters and release other Aircraft. Crews are making their way in. It is a long winding road back into this area.
Update: 4:14pm Ground Units are making access at this time with more inbound. Fire still holding but still had potential. Tankers have made drops towards containment.
Update: 3:47pm AA460 over this incident and reports 2-3 acres in size burning in the Understory in thick Timber.
Update: 3:45pm This incident is on SPI Land and there is a big Air Support Resource Order that have been placed and a 1 USFS Engine is in the Second Alarm Dispatch.
Update: 3:17pm Units inbound have a line of sight on this incident 1 ac guess with a potential 5-10 ac. More resources are being dispatched in a Second Alarm. This is in the Blue Creek Drainage off 7n08 near Hermit Springs. AEU is sending resources.
Due to other fires in the state a Air Support Resource Order was place by San Andreas.
